Bebo (14), Pata (15) y Ricardito (10), son primos, amigos y compañeros en el carro. Viven en Villa Urquiza, un barrio urbano marginal de la ciudad de Córdoba. Allí, la mayor parte de sus habitantes son carreros y cartoneros. Yatasto nos transporta al mundo de estos tres niños, para observarlo y sumergirnos de lleno en ese universo. La familia, los viajes en el carro tirado por caballos, sus conversaciones, la transmisión de conocimiento de su abuela Chinina y su visión del mundo son los núcleos de esta película. (Source)
Bebo (14), Pata (15), and Ricardito (10) are cousins, friends and “cartmates”. They live in Villa Urquiza, a marginal and vulnerable urban area in Cordoba City.There, most of the inhabitants work driving their carts and are “cartoneros” (they collect used cardboard and paper from the dump – sometimes also other objects or materials – in order to sell it, recycle it or use it). Yatasto takes us into these three children’s world, to observe it and inmerse ourselves fully in their universe. The family, the trips around the city on the cart pulled by horses, their conversations, the transmission of their grandma Chinina’s knowledge, and their view of the world are the main elements of this movie. «No todo es vigilia» / Not All is Vigil, Spain/Colombia, 2014, 98′
Antonio y Felisa llevan viviendo juntos en un pequeño pueblo de Teruel durante más de 60 años. Sus fuerzas empiezan a flaquear y su estado de salud, cada vez más frágil, les impide cuidar el uno del otro. Como una amenaza aparece en el horizonte la posibilidad de tener que abandonar su casa e ir a una residencia de ancianos. No todo es vigilia retrata el cariño en la vejez, las noches en duermevela por miedo a la soledad, a la muerte y a la separación del ser amado, el temor de ambos a dejar la vida en manos ajenas y perder su independencia. Antonio and Felisa have been living together their whole life, in a little village of the province of Teruel. Now that their health is more fragile they are afraid of not being able to take care of each other. On the horizon the prospect of having to go into a retirement home appears as a threat. Not All is Vigil portrays love in old age, tossing-and-turning nights due to the fear of loneliness, death and separation from the beloved. It portrays the fear of leaving one’s life in someone else’s hands and losing independence. (Source)
