Silvia Nanclares tiene diversos intereses profesionales que abarcan desde la producción y distribución de obras creativas hasta la investigación y activismo cultural. Se licenció en ciencias teatrales en la Real Escuela de Arte Dramático en Madrid, y después se trasladó a Argentina, donde comenzó una carrera de dramaturga. Al volver a España, esta vez a Sevilla, Nanclares se hizo guionista, empezó a dirigir cortometrajes de ficción y colaboró con la AAIICC (Agencia Andaluza de Instituciones Culturales). En 2011, se trasladó a Francia y, inspirada por la efervescencia política del movimiento 15M, encabezó #bookcamping, una herramienta digital y colectivo de investigación. #Bookcamping pretende recopilar toda la literatura motivada por el 15M y, más aún, demostrar la importancia del compromiso social y del movimiento Cultura Libre.
Ahora vive en Madrid donde colabora con fanzines, blogs y otros medios de comunicación, a la vez desarrollando e impulsando varios proyectos propios individuales. Trabaja e investiga en la órbita de la literatura, el mundo editorial y la Cultura Libre, y ve sus obras como un catalizador para el diálogo. Sus proyectos pretenden inspirar conversaciones sobre la fricción entre la cultura, sus instituciones y el público. Uno de sus proyectos, El Sur: Instrucciones de uso, es una collection de relatos autoeditada y distribuida bajo la licencia Creative Commons CC-BY-SA. Esta licencia, una de las más libres y abiertas, ha permitido a sus lectores de interactuar con la obra de formas interesantes. El Sur ha inspirado varias obras derivadas, y de hecho ha sido escrita en parte por sus lectores. Nanclares contribuye a menudo con medios como Periódico Diagonal, eldiario.es y varios publicaciones alternativas. Mantiene su blog Entorno de Posibilidades.
Silvia Nanclares’ professional interests range from the production and publication of creative works to cultural activism and research. After graduating with a degree in Theater Sciences from the Real Escuela de Arte Dramático in Madrid, she moved briefly to Argentina where she began her career as a playwright. Upon returning to Spain, this time to Sevilla, Nanclares branched into screenwriting and short narrative, and got involved with the AAIICC (Agencia Andaluza de Instituciones Culturales). In 2011, Nanclares moved to France where, inspired by the political commotion of the 15-M movement, she spearheaded #bookcamping, a research collective and digital tool. #Bookcamping’s goal is to compile all literature motivated by the 15M movement, and even more to prove the importance of civic engagement and the Free Culture Movement.
Now living in Madrid, Silvia Nanclares collaborates with fanzines, blogs and other media outlets, all the while developing and seeing through her own individual projects. Wit her work and research in the realms of literature, editorials, and with the Free Culture Movement, Nanclares views her own work as a catalyst for dialogue. Her projects aim to inspire conversations about the tension between culture, institutions, and the general public. One of her projects, El Sur: Instrucciones de uso, is a self-published collection of short-stories licensed under Creative Commons as CC-BY-SA. This license, one of the loosest available copyright agreements, has allowed readers to really interact with the text. El Sur has inspired numerous derivative works, and in fact was actually partially written by its readers. Nanclares contributes regularly to media sources such as Periódico Diagonal, eldiario.es, and various underground publications. She has a blog called Entorno de Posibilidades.
