El Taller<\/strong><\/h3>\n

En el invierno del 2017, Miguel dirigi\u00f3 un taller de dos semanas en Carleton College. Su taller fue una oportunidad para que los estudiantes exploraran sus capacidades creativas y adem\u00e1s los desaf\u00edo a imaginar un futuro distinto al futuro apocal\u00edptico que domina el imaginario colectivo. La primera semana dio tres clases te\u00f3ricas para preparar a los estudiantes para sus proyectos creativos. En las clases, Miguel habl\u00f3 del poder del humor para crear conexiones que uno normalmente no hace y del poder del humor en el arte. A los estudiantes les asign\u00f3 verse <\/span>Brazil<\/span><\/i> y <\/span>La belle verte<\/span><\/i> y escribir las ideas que estas pel\u00edculas les generaron. Miguel tambi\u00e9n habl\u00f3 mucho de su proceso creativo y distintas maneras en que el arte pierde un poco de prop\u00f3sito cuando se toma muy serio y se comercializa completamente. Miguel anim\u00f3 a los estudiantes a jugar con sus ideas, a reconocer el valor del humor, y a pensar creativamente no solo en este taller pero en sus vidas diarias.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

La segunda semana del taller fue completamente dedicada a los proyectos creativos de los estudiantes. Miguel ofreci\u00f3 muchas horas de oficina donde los estudiantes pod\u00edan venir a cualquier hora a pedirle ayuda o consejos en sus proyectos. El taller entero fue concluido con una presentaci\u00f3n de todos los proyectos en una cena abierta a toda la universidad.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Workshop<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In the winter of 2017, Miguel lead a two week workshop at Carleton College. His workshop was an opportunity for students to explore their creative abilities and also challenge them to imagine a future different from the apocalyptic future that dominates the collective imagination. The first week, Miguel gave three theory classes to prepare students for their creative projects. In class, Miguel talked about the power of humor to create connections that one does not normally make, and the power of humor in art. The students were assigned to watch\u00a0Brazil\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0La Belle Verte\u00a0<\/em>and to write down ideas that these films generated. Miguel also talked a lot about his creative process and different ways in which art loses a bit of its\u00a0purpose when it is taken very seriously and completely marketed. Miguel encouraged the students to play with their ideas, and to recognize the value of humor, and to think creatively not only in this workshop, but in their daily lives.<\/p>\n

The second week of the workshop was completely dedicated to students’ creative projects. Miguel offered many office hours where students could come at any time to ask for help or advice on their projects. The entire workshop was concluded with a presentation of all the projects in a dinner that was open to the whole college.<\/p>\n
