Xacio Ba\u00f1o\u00a0<\/strong>(Xove, Lugo, 1983) se acerc\u00f3 al cine, dejando de lado la carrera de ingenier\u00eda, con el impulso de contar historias. Y como ha ido demostrando a trav\u00e9s de su filmograf\u00eda, muchos son los caminos que conducen a esas historias. La forma de contarlas es un campo de juegos en el que Ba\u00f1o no ha vacilado en experimentar a placer con una osad\u00eda que es, precisamente, la que ha hecho que sus cortometrajes hayan dado la vuelta el mundo haciendo escala en festivales como Locarno, Mar de Plata, Busan, Telluride y Clermont-Ferrand, donde ha sido premiado, al igual que en Las Palmas, M\u00e1laga, Alcine y el Shnit Film Festival suizo. Los distintos puntos de vista humanos, y la manera de percibir la realidad a partir de ellos es uno de los elementos que gu\u00eda el cine de Ba\u00f1o, que ha ido mutando desde ficciones con trazas de historia personal y realidad documentada \u2013como el caso de\u00a0Estereoscop\u00eda<\/i>\u00a0y\u00a0Anacos<\/i>\u2013 hasta terrenos h\u00edbridos de ficci\u00f3n y no ficci\u00f3n, como es el caso de la pieza que le ha consolidado a nivel internacional,\u00a0Ser e voltar<\/i>. Es as\u00ed como en Xacio Ba\u00f1o se da la paradoja de un cine que empieza intentando ponerse en lugar del otro, para terminar alcanzando un modo de ver genuinamente personal.<\/p>\n

Xacio Ba\u00f1o<\/strong> (Xove, Lugo, Spain 1983) left behind a career in engineering and\u00a0went\u00a0into filmmaking due to his\u00a0desire to tell stories.\u00a0As he has been demonstrating with\u00a0his films, there are many roads which lead to these stories. Ba\u00f1o has experimented boldly with different ways of telling them- almost like on a playground. It is a fact, no doubt, which has contributed to the success of his short films around the world, winning him awards at festivals such as\u00a0Locarno, Mar de Plata, Busan, Telluride and Clermont-Ferrand, as well as in Las Palmas, M\u00e1laga, Alcine and the Swiss Shnit Film Festival. Ba\u00f1o’s films reflect the many different points of view we have as humans, as well as how we perceive reality, causing them to take on various forms, from fiction with a touch of personal history and documented reality \u2013as is the case of\u00a0Estereoscop\u00eda and Anacos<\/em>\u2013 to hybrid fiction and nonfiction,\u00a0in\u00a0Ser e voltar<\/em>– a\u00a0film that established him internationally. Through\u00a0Xacio Ba\u00f1o\u2019s films\u00a0we witness a paradox unfold as a film that started out\u00a0trying to take on another’s point of view, ends up with one that is so\u00a0genuinely personal.<\/p>\n
