Su madre era italiana y su padre un escritor espa\u00f1ol. Se matricul\u00f3 en Arquitectura pero abandon\u00f3 los estudios para empezar Filosof\u00eda y Letras en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Se cas\u00f3 con la escritora Carmen Mart\u00edn Gaite a la que conoci\u00f3 en la Universidad. Empez\u00f3 su carrera de escritor publicando relatos en diferentes revistas, y junto con Ignacio Aldecoa y Alfonso Sastre dirigi\u00f3 la <em>Revista Espa\u00f1ola<\/em>. En 1951 public\u00f3 su primera obra \u201cIndustrias y andanzas de Alfanhu\u00ed\u201d relato con el que se dio a conocer. La obra m\u00e1s destacada de Rafael S\u00e1nchez Ferlosio es <em>El Jarama<\/em> con la que consigui\u00f3 el Premio Nadal en 1955 y el premio de la cr\u00edtica en 1956. Esta obra se destaca por su lenguaje coloquial y los di\u00e1logos de sus personajes. En su carrera como escritor destacan los art\u00edculos y ensayos.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Rafael S\u00e1nchez Ferlosio<\/strong> was born in Rome on December 4, 1927. His mother was Italian and his father was a Spanish writer. He enrolled in Architecture, but he abandoned his studies to begin Philosophy and Humanities\u00a0at the Universidad Complutense in\u00a0Madrid. He married the writer Carmen Mart\u00edn Gaite whom he met at the University. He began his career as a writer, publishing stories in different magazines, and together with Ignacio Aldecoa and Alfonso Sastre he ran the <em>Revista Espanola. <\/em>In 1951 he published his first work, \u201cIndustrias y andanzas de Alfanhu\u00ed,\u201d a story which made him well-known. His\u00a0most distinguished work is <em>El Jarama<\/em>, which won him the Premio Nadal in 1955 and the critic\u2019s award in 1956. This work distinguishes itself by its colloquial language and the dialogue of its characters.
