Pau Fau es documentalista y artista visual. Su obra consiste en activar mecanismos de representación y/o interacción que hagan aflorar las particularidades y los conflictos del entorno que elige narrar.

Arquitecto de formación. Ha sido profesor de la Universidad de Arquitectura del Vallès (UPC) y ha formado parte del colectivo de exploración urbana ‘Observatorio Nómada’. Es autor de los libros ‘La Ciudad Jubilada’, ‘Figueres-Paris: 5 horas 30 minutos’ y co-autor de ‘Co-Habitaciones. Patrimonio, taxidermia y autoconstrucción en Valparaíso’. Ramiro Ledo Cordeiro es realizador y montador independiente. Cofundador y director hasta 2007 del Cineclube de Compostela, y de tres números de Ariel, boletín de cinema en galego. Catalogador del archivo histórico audiovisual de TVE-Galicia, Máster documental creativo (UAB) y DEA en Estudios sobre cine contemporáneo (UPF, tesina  Filmar la Historia a partir de Peter Weiss). Colaborador de distintos medios, entre ellos Radio Galega, Xornal de Galicia, Blogs&docs y Asociación Lumière. Desde 2014 es socio trabajador fundador de NUMAX, S. Coop. Galega, en donde se responsabiliza de la coordinación general y del cinema NUMAX.

Ramiro Ledo Cordeiro is an independent filmmaker and video editor. He is the cofounder, and until 2007 director, of Cineclube de Compostela and of three issues of the film magazine Ariel, boletín de cinema en galego. He classifies historical visual archives at TVE-Galicia, has a master’s degree in Creative Documentary (UAB, Barcelona), and a PhD in Contemporary Film Studies (UPF, Barcelona, master thesis Filming History from Peter Weiss). He contributes to Radio Galega, Xornal de Galicia, Blogsandocs and Asociación Lumière, among others. Since 2014, he has worked as a founder worker at NUMAX, S. Coop. Galega, where he does general coordination and directs the cinema NUMAX.

Miguel Ángel Nieto es fotógrafo; pero sobre todo, y por encima de todo, es simplemente periodista: «Soy periodista desde que me despierto -dice-; e incluso mientras duermo sueño que lo seré algún día». Empezó en los periódicos con 18 años, con máquinas de escribir y papel de calco, tras haber sido el dibujante y caricaturista de la revista de la escuela. Después de más de 30 años ha pasado por decenas de diarios y revistas, ha trabajado como corresponsal de guerra, ha dirigido diversos programas de televisión, ha hecho más de 25 películas documentales y ha escrito varios libros de investigación periodística y algunas obras de literatura que se niega a publicar. Sus documentales y sus textos han recorrido medio mundo, han recibido numerosos premios internacionales, en Madrid, Hamburgo, Buenos Aires o San Francisco, y se han emitido en televisiones de toda Europa y América. Es fundador y director ejecutivo de Diagrama Producciones.

Miguel Ángel Nieto is a photographer; but above all, he is simply a journalist: «I am a journalist from the minute I wake up – he says-; and even while I sleep, I dream of the day that I will be one.» He started working for newspapers at 18 years old, with typewriters and carbon paper, after having been an illustrator and cartoonist for the magazine of his school. For more than 30 years, he has worked in dozens of journals and newspapers, made more than 25 documentary films, and written various books on investigative journalism and other literature works that have yet to be published. His documentaries and texts have made their way around the world, been awarded various international prizes in Madrid, Hamburg, Buenos Aires and San Francisco, and been broadcast on television throughout Europe and America. He is the founder and executive director of Diagrama Producciones.

Rocío Cabrera es directora y productora de cine. Nació en Murcia en 1979. En cuarto de carrera decidió que quería hacer documentales. Desde entonces siempre ha trabajado en ese género. Lo estudió en el Curso de Dirección y con IPECC se especializó en la parte de producción. Ha trabajado en diferentes proyectos de Artika Films…y sigue aprendiendo.

Rocío Cabrera is a film director and producer from Murcia, Spain (1979). In her 4th year of studies she decided she wanted to make documentaries. Since then, she has worked exclusively in the documentary genre, studying at the Curso de Dirección and later specializing in production at IPECC (Institute for Postgraduate Cultural and Communication Studies). She has worked on different projects with Artika Films…and keeps learning.

Hermes Paralluelo nació en Barcelona, España en 1981. Se licenció como director de fotografía en el Centro de Estudios Cinematográficos de Cataluña, donde realizó el cortometraje «Vlozni 028» (2004). Luego de mudarse a Argentina, en 2006 coordinó un taller de cine documental en Tilcara, donde realizó el mediometraje documental «Pan de azúcar» (2007). «Yatasto» fue el work in progress ganador en la edición 2010 del BAL.

Hermes Paralluelo was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1981. He has a degree in Cinematography from the Catalonian Center for Film Studies, where he made the short film Vlozni 028 (2004). In 2006 and after moving to Argentina, he put on a documentary film workshop in Tilcara, where he made the medium-length documentary Pan de azúcar (2007). His film Yatasto won the award for best work in progress at 2010’s Buenos Aires Lab.

Marcos Merino 1973, Gijón, Asturias. Licenciado en Ciencias de la Imagen (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), ha trabajado como editor y redactor de noticias económicas en televisión durante 15 años. En abril de 2011 comenzó la producción de su primer largometraje documental “ReMine, el último movimiento obrero” (2014) que ha sido premiada en 6 Festivales de Cine Internacional y seleccionada por otros 25 certámenes. Marcos M. Merino ha dedicado los tres últimos años de su vida al movimiento minero sobre el que ha participado con una pieza audiovisual en la exposición colectiva “Aprendiendo de las Cuencas” (Laboral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, 2013) y ha publicado el libro #resistenciaminera junto al fotoperiodista Javier Bauluz (Premio Pulizter, 1995). Dirigió en 2014 el cortometraje documental “A Noite é necesaria”, que fue estrenado en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Valdivia. Merino acaba de terminar una serie documental llamada “La Llucha” que está basada en la película ReMine con una hora de nuevo metraje.

Marcos Merino (Gijón, Spain, 1973) holds a degree in Image Sciences from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and has worked as an economic news writer and editor in television for 15 years. In April of 2011 he started production on his fist feature documentary ReMine, The Last Working-Class Movement (2014). It has since won awards in 25 contests and at 6 International Film Festivals. For the past three years, Marcos M. Merino has been involved with the miners movement, collaborating with an audiovisual piece as part of the exhibition: «Aprendiendo de las Cuencas/Learning from the Caves» (Laboral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial, 2013). He also published the book #resistenciaminera, along with photo journalist Javier Bauluz (Pulitzer Prize, 1995). In 2014, he directed the short documentary A Noite é necesaria, which was premiered at the Valdivia International Film Festival. Merino recently finished working on a documentary series based on the film ReMine but with an additional hour of footage called «La Llucha.»

Javier Rebollo nace en Madrid. En el año 2006, rueda en coproducción con Francia el largometraje, Lo que sé de Lola / Ce que je sais de Lola, protagonizado por Lola Dueñas, Michaël Abiteboul y Carmen Machi. Se estrena en la Sección Oficial a Concurso del Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián. La película ha sido nominada al Goya a la Mejor Dirección Novel y ha obtenido una gran repercusión crítica (es elegida por el conjunto de críticos reunidos anualmente por El Cultural de El Mundo entre las cinco mejores películas del año). Participa en cincuenta festivales internacionales y, entre otros, gana el Premio FIPRESCI de la crítica internacional en el London Film Festival (Inglaterra), el Gran Premio del Festival Internacional de Cine de Seúl (Corea), el Premio Julio Verne a la Mejor Película en el Festival de Cine Español de Nantes, el Gran Premio del Festival de Cine de Marsella (Francia), el Premio al Mejor Director en los festivales de Montevideo (Uruguay) y Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), y el Premio a la Mejor Ópera Prima en los festivales de Tudela (España), Guadalajara (México), MadridImagen (España) y Chicago Latino (EEUU).

Javier Rebollo was born in Madrid. In 2006, in co-production with France, he directed the feature film Lo que sé de Lola/ Ce que je sais de Lola (What I Know About Lola), starring Lola Dueñas, Michaël Abiteboul and Carmen Machi. The film was premiered as part of the Official Selection of the San Sebastián International Film Festival (Spain). The film was nominated for a Goya for Best New Director, and has received high praise from critics (it was deemed one of the best 5 films of the year by a group of critics who meet annually on behalf of El Cultural from Spanish newspaper El Mundo). It has been shown in 50 international festivals and, among other things, won the FIPRESCI Award for international critique at the London Film Festival, the Grand Prize at the Seul International Film Festival (South Korea), the Prix Jules Verne for the Best Film at the Spanish Film Festival in Nantes, the Grand Prize at the Marseille Film Festival (France), the award for Best Director at the Montevideo (Uruguay) and Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia) Film Festivals, and the Prize for the Best Directoral Debut at the Tudela (Spain), Guadalajara (Mexico), MadridImagen (Spain), and Chicago Latino (USA) Film Festivals.

Luis López Carrasco (Murcia, 1981) es cineasta, escritor y artista visual. Es co-fundador del colectivo audiovisual Los hijos, dedicado al cine documental y experimental. El trabajo del colectivo ha sido proyectado en numerosos festivales y centros de arte internacionales. El Festival Internacional de Mar del plata, el Festival Distrital de México DF, el Festival de cine Lima Independiente, CGAI y Arteleku han dedicado ciclos monográficos. El primer largometraje del colectivo, ‘Los materiales’, ganó el premio Jean Vigo a la mejor dirección del Festival Internacional Punto de vista de Navarra 2010 y la Mención especial del Jurado de FiD Marseille 2010.

Luis López Carrasco (Murcia, Spain, 1981) is a film director, writer and visual artist. He is the co-founder of the audiovisual collective Los hijos, dedicated to experimental and documentary film. Works of the collective have been shown at numerous international festivals and art centers. The Mar del planta International Festival, Mexico DF’s District Festival, the Lima Independent Film Festival, CGAI (Galicia, Spain), and Arteleku have all dedicated monographic cycles. The collective’s first feature film, Los materiales, won the Prix Jean Vigo for best director at the Punto de vista International Festival in Navarra (Spain) in 2010, and received an honorable mention from the jury at the Marseille International Film Festival (France), also in 2010.

Rocio Mesa nació en Granada. Se licenció en periodismo por la Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad de Sevilla y desde entonces su vida profesional ha estado totalmente dirigida al mundo audiovisual. Ha trabajado en diferentes productoras haciendo publicidad, reportajes y documentales. Gran parte de su carrera profesional también se ha desarrollado en el mundo de la televisión, trabajando para cadenas como TVE 2 y Canal Sur Televisión. En 2010 le conceden una «Beca Talentia» de la Junta de Andalucía para hacer un master de dirección de documentales en New York Film Academy. Allí realiza varios cortometrajes como «Almon Loos, the rocking barber» o «Traffic in LA Sucks!»,  que han sido seleccionados en festivales de cine nacionales e internacionales. En los últimos años ha sido la encargada del departamento de video de la International Documentary Association y ha trabajado en el departamento de postproducción de New York Film Academy en Los Ángeles y con Interloper Films, entre otros muchos proyectos. Es la fundadora de la productora audiovisual MY DEER Films y el documental «Orensanz» es su primera experiencia como directora en formato largo.

Rocío Mesa grew up in the Spanish town of Granada in Andalusia. She has a degree in Journalism from the Communication School at the University of Seville. Since then her professional life has revolved around the audiovisual world. She has worked on several documentaries, commercials, and TV shows, working with channels like TVE 2 and Canal Sur Televisión. In 2010, she was awarded a Talentia Grant –  given exclusively to promising professionals by the Government of Andalusia, and went to work at the New York Film Academy. While there, she directed various short films, from her character film, Almon Loos, the Rocking Barber, to her social issue documentary, Traffic in LA Sucks! (both selected for various international and national film festivals), to her One Year Final Documentary, Orensanz, the portrait of an illustrious Spanish artist who lives in a synagogue. In the last few years, she has been the manager of the video department at the International Documentary Association, worked in the post-production department at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, and interned at Interloper Films, among other things. She is the founder of the audiovisual film producer of MY DEER Films.
