Contratiempo nació con el propósito de avanzar en la democratización de la cultura histórica como condición para la construcción de una ciudadanía global y multicultural, así como para contribuir al logro de un nuevo consenso ético basado en la comunicación y el diálogo entre expertos y las nuevas subjetividades sociales respecto del pasado, común y no común.
Desde febrero de 2014 participamos en una iniciativa de construcción colectiva del pasado que refleja bien nuestro ideario de incentivar la toma de conciencia, por parte de diferentes grupos sociales e individuos, de cuál es el sentido de su propio pensamiento histórico, y de propiciar que los expertos desarrollemos una mayor sensibilidad hacia las interpretaciones del pasado que producen e intentan difundir esos grupos sociales e individuos no expertos. Se trata de la Universidad del Barrio, en la cual participamos como coordinadores del «Curso de historia para ciudadanos».
Contratiempo was born with the aim to progress in the democratization of historical culture, seeing it as a condition of the construction of a global, multicultural society. It hopes to contribute to the making of a new ethical consensus based on communication and dialog between experts and the new social subjectivities with respect to the past, on both a collective and individual level.
Since February of 2014, we have taken part in the initiative to construct a collective memory of the past that rightly reflects our wish for a conscious understanding by both individuals and social groups of their own history. We hope to encourage experts to be more sensitive to the fact that certain interpretations aim and confusing those who are not experts and do not know better. We do this through la Universidad del Barrio (the neighborhood university), where we act as coordinators of “A History Lesson for Citizens.”
