Vicente Rubio-Pueyo obtuvo su doctorado en Estudios Españoles Culturales en Stony Brook University y enseña en Fordham University. Actualmente está trabajando en un proyecto de libro en torno a la relación del Estado y los movimientos sociales en la España contemporánea.
Ha escrito extensamente en contextos académicos y en prensa sobre la sociedad actual , el comienzo de la crisis y la emergencia del movimiento Indignados y de fuerzas políticas como Podemos y las “confluencias municipales.” Es el autor de “Municipalismo en España” un estudio que le encargó Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung de Nueva York. Entre otras iniciativas, ha colaborado con el Left Forum y actualmente es parte del comité directivo del Fearless Cities-North American Municipalist Summit (New York, July 27-29).
Vicente Rubio-Pueyo has a PhD in Spanish Cultural Studies by Stony Brook University and teaches at Fordham University. He is currently working on a book on political cultures, State and Movements in Contemporary Spain, from the 70’s Transition to the present.
He has written extensively, both in academic contexts and in the press, on the current social and political conjuncture opened in Spain since the beginning of the crisis and the emergence of the Indignados movement, and on political forces like Podemos and the “municipal confluences.” He is author of “Municipalism in Spain” a study commissioned by Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung-NYC Office. Among other initiatives, he has collaborated with the Left Forum, and currently is part of the steering committee of Fearless Cities-North American Municipalist Summit (New York, July 27-29).
