Tabakalera es un centro de creación de cultura contemporánea en proceso de construcción, con el propósito de generar pensamiento crítico, reflexión y debate. El proyecto cultural será el motor del edificio que albergará diferentes proyectos e iniciativas culturales, fortaleciendo una comunidad creativa y propiciando espacios de colaboración y relación entre los diferentes agentes y la ciudadanía. El objetivo principal del proyecto cultural es promover la creación cultural contemporánea en diferentes ámbitos y en todas sus fases (investigación, producción, exhibición) y generar y compartir conocimiento. Es un proyecto impulsado por el Gobierno Vasco, Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa y el Ayuntamiento de San Sebastián.
Tabakalera is a center for the creation of contemporary culture, currently under construction, wanting to promote critical thought, reflection and debate. The cultural project will be the driving force behind all the activities which take place in the building, comprising a variety of cultural initiatives. This will help create a robust creative community and provide a platform for collaborative work between assorted organisations and the general public. The main goal of this cultural project is to promote the creation of contemporary culture in different fields and in all its stages (research, production, exhibition), and to generate and share knowledge. It is a project promoted by the Basque Government, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and the San Sebastian City Council.
